To get by public transportation from Innsbruck to Obergurgl you will, in most cases, take the train from Innsbruck to Ötztal (on the average about two trains per hour, travel time between 30 and 50 minutes depending on the train), and by postbus from Ötztal (departing from the train station) to Obergurgl. The connections are not optimal: in order to reach the train from Innsbruck Hbf. at 10.34 a.m., you have to leave Obergurgl at 6.50 a.m.
Innsbruck airport is currently served by Austrian Airlines (service to Frankfurt, Vienna, and London-Gatwick) and several small commuter airlines.
For Saturday, January 8 at 6.30 pm, and for Sunday, Jan. 9 at 6 pm and 7.30 pm, we have arranged for buses to take the participants from Innsbruck Hbf. (Central train station) to Obergurgl. 15 minutes prior to the departure of each bus, one of the organizers (most likely Prof. Ehlotzky) will wait in the main hall of the train station with a big sign "HIFAT". Please, try to find him. He will accompany the participants to the bus.
At the end of the workshop, on Saturday, January 15, we will have two buses leaving Obergurgl for Innsbruck Hbf., one at 6.30 am, which will connect with the train to Munich at 8.24 am, and another one at 8.00 am, in time for the next train at 10.34 am.
If you arrive and/or depart at times such that you cannot reach the bus on sunday night or saturday morning, please, let us know your schedule. If sufficiently many attendees should have the same, we may be able to arrange for an extra bus.
