Research Topic

Short introduction:

As a part of EU FLAME project, a new compact ion-ion coincidence imaging experimental setup has been developed to work with a high repetition rate OPCPA laser system (developed by Dr. Federico Furch at MBI). A velocity-map imaging (VMI ) spectrometer has been implemented with a powerful 3D detector which consists of two microchannel plates (MCPs) and a pixelated detector (Medipix/Timepix) instead of conventional delay-line detector. Combing with the high repetition rate laser system, the spectrometer can acheive ~10^4 events per second at a very high spatial and time resolution. It is very promising to be applied for pump-probe experiments in the near future.
